What's my Armour Class or Defence rating?
I've been upgrading my armour from the basic stuff but I can't see what my total AC or Armour Bonus is anywhere?
I realise that the AC may change depending on what you are doing with pluses to Armour in given situations (e.g. while Hexed or in a stance) but it'd be nice to see what the base AC is for the armour a chr is wearing at a given time. In games like D2, the armour rating or defence a chr has is displayed and changes according to situations chrs are in...(e.g. if a Barb uses the shout that increases a party's defence) Am I missing this in the Invetory or Character screen or is it really not shown? If it isn't shown, I can't really see how you can meaningfully judge the effect of a skill which may increase your defence (if such exists) and thereby decide which skills are best to use in agiven situation. |

Your base armour class is what ever your armour has one it e.g. 30 armour on your boots means you have 30 armour on your boots, skills that give bonus armour or detract from it arn't normally complicated.
A skill that gives +20 armour, using the biggests super computer in the world i got that i would have 50 armour while the skill is active. It's pretty simple. |

as chipp mentioned, the ac is clearly indicated on each piece of armor you have. most hits are location specific, so ac does not stack. your ac is the ac at whichever location you are being hit. skills that give bonuses to armor are applied globally.

Thanks for the useful reply Strider....I think Chippy was concentrating so hard on his sarcasm that he forgot the mention the fairly crucial point that hits are location specific which, therefore, makes the calc pretty simple.

I thought that the comment i made, if you have 30 armour on your boots means you have 30 armour on your boots made it pretty clear, but sorry it wasn't.
